The Charming Country Hotel

For as long as we can remember, we have seen ourselves as a comfortable and caring retreat for travellers and we still proudly carry our origins as a former post station in our name today.
Located on the main street of our small village, we feel right at home in the heart of it all – as a refined country hotel surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Lüneburger Heide.

The atmosphere in our house reflects both our heritage and our vision for the future. We value quality and durability. Whenever we redesign something, we aim to use only fine materials and timeless furnishings.
Not all rooms are identical in style, but each one is lovingly maintained and ready to become your home away from home for a night, a weekend, or a longer holiday.

In every season, we take great joy in our wonderful hotel garden, which feels almost like a small park. It offers a peaceful retreat not only for our guests but also for ourselves in busy times.
Its variety of plants, ancient oaks, and lush greenery will surely add a special touch to your stay with us.

From Hermann Löns to Otmar Alt

A vibrant collection of lithographs, oil paintings, art prints, and old letters has found a home here at Niemeyer’s Posthotel – spanning many eras and artistic styles.
These carefully curated treasures can be admired throughout the hotel – in the public areas as well as in the guest rooms even in our beautiful garden, you will discover the occasional artful sculpture that enriches the atmosphere.

Not all of the artworks displayed in our house were purchased. Around the turn of the 20th century, visual artists such as Karl Korbmann and writers like Felicitas Rose and Hermann Löns stayed with us.
In our lobby, for example, you can see a painting by Karl Korbmann depicting the former Tewes wagons (today’s Am Gehäge street), which he left as payment for his stay.

Where Old Meets New

In our public spaces as well as in the guest rooms, cherished and well-kept pieces from the past blend harmoniously with contemporary touches – always warm, always inviting, and often with their own story to tell.
We take great care to ensure that nothing feels overwhelming – even though, from spring to Christmas, we love to redecorate reception rooms and lobby area again and again with fresh seasonal charm.

Hotel Garden

Sheltered and serene, framed by the backdrop of the old Lürnhof, the traditional granary, and the historic well, our beautiful garden – almost a small hotel park – invites you to relax and enjoy nature.
Admire the ancient oak trees and discover many little hideaways for a peaceful day that’s entirely your own.

Stretch out on one of our sun loungers with a good book, soak up the sunshine, or unwind with a gentle stroll through our lovingly maintained hotel garden.
